PEDIACHANIC
INT. DOCTOR'S OFFICE - DAY
MOTHER walks JIMMY into the doctor's office, holding his
hand.
DR CRITH
(Reading from his chart.)
Okay, let's see what we've got
here. A 1998 Jimmy, twelve-hundred
miles on him. What seems to be the
problem?
MOTHER
Oh just a couple of little things
that have been building for a
while, it seemed like a good time
to bring him in for a tune-up.
DR CRITH
What sort of little things?
MOTHER
He's been pulling to the left ever
since he hit a pothole on the
playground the other week.
DR CRITH
Mmm. I see.
MOTHER
And he's been leaking a lot of
fluids lately, especially during
the night in the garage.
DR CRITH
Must be quite a mess in the
morning.
MOTHER
Quite. While he was in, I was
hoping you could take care of the
usual maintenance as well, and also
take care of a couple of scratches
on the body that have been
bothering me.
DR CRITH
Hoooie. That might be a bit of a
problem.
For this model boy, I'm going to
have to special-order some Band
Aids from Japan. Might take a week
or so to get here.
MOTHER
Is that going to cost extra?
DR CRITH
I'm afraid so. But you know, the
Cash for Clunkers program is still
in effect. Any interest in getting
a new son?
MOTHER
I'll have to talk it over with my
husband. I think we'll go ahead for
the service for now. I'll bring him
in next week, once you get the band
aids in?
DR CRITH
Sounds good. See you then!
GOODBYE!
